Follr.com is the latest venture of Social Gears, LLC, a company formed in November 2007 to explore opportunities made possible by Facebook’s newly opened developer platform. Since inception Social Gears has created successful applications for top tier companies including IBM, MTV, Nestlé, Kraft Foods, Medco and the American Chemistry Council working with agencies like Ogilvy & Mather.
Prior to follr.com, Mark contributed UI design, technology and patented IP to a joint venture between Social Gears and SNReach. SNReach maximizes success by harnessing the power of social networks to achieve extraordinary new levels of marketing effectiveness. It is a branded share platform that enables our clients to fully monetize their websites, e-mails, videos, and Facebook pages via optimized viral spread.
In addition to Social Gears, other ventures include Network Earth, Inc. founded in 1995 to provide Web based solutions for financial institutions such as Charles Schwab, Bank of America and U.S. Trust bank. In 2004 he co-founded AgencyLogic PowerSites (www.agencylogic.com). PowerSites are single property Websites that are 100% dedicated to one listing. Realtors/Real Estate professionals use them to help win the listing and to market the property.
In 1999 he co-founded and was a board member of ParentWatch, Inc., the leader in secure remote video to the childcare industry. His responsibilities included overseeing all research and development for video delivery and back-end administration systems as well as assisting in very significant VC funding.
Mr. Wayman is the co-inventor of 10 patents including behavioral targeting in social networks, measuring social engagement activities, procurement matching, and video-searching. He has worked in the banking, commodities and Fortune 500 fields in London and New York.
Mr. Wayman graduated at the top of his class, top of his year and chosen to represent the county (Essex) from Harlow Technical College, Essex, England. He was awarded his diploma by H.R.H. the Duke of Kent. He is married with a six year old daughter, and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area Oakland for the last 9 years.
