Falling Walls Lab is a global event that provides a platform for students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals from various fields to present their path breaking ideas and research in 3 minutes. Each year, Falling Walls Labs are held around the world—34 Labs took place in 28 countries in 2015. The finalist from each Lab participates in grand finale in Berlin. The finale is part of the internationally acclaimed Falling Walls Conference, an event which has attracted several Nobel laureates, entrepreneurs, artists, and heads of governments, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as speakers.

As one of the founding members of the global event, A.T. Kearney organized the first Falling Walls Lab Bay Area last year at UC Berkeley with excellent participation from students and young professionals across the Bay Area and beyond. The event was judged by a distinguished panel which included Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems and Arista Networks, Stefan Schlueter, German Consul General for San Francisco, and Vishwa Chandra, head of Retail Accounts at Instacart, among others.
