Alec SternAs member of Constant Contact’s founding team, Alec learned invaluable lessons as he helped the company through its initial building stages, go-to-market and growth.

Having also worked with thousands of new and growing small businesses along the way, Alec has distilled some of his knowledge and experience into his “Ten Pillars for Achieving Small Business Success,” a strategy that will help any business gain perspective and learn effective tactics that can be put into practice both quickly and easily.

It will also help businesses think about different ways they can gain additional exposure, deepen their current customer relationships and create new ones.

Alec Stern is Vice President of Strategic Innovation and Executive in Residence for the Small Business Innovation Program at Constant Contact (Nasdaq: CTCT) and a member of Constant Contact’s founding team as one of the original three in an attic. His wide range of responsibilities included senior roles in strategic partnerships, channels, business development and sales. Alec is also responsible for the creation and development of Constant Contact’s channel partner programs. Today he continues to spearhead strategic innovation, community-based entrepreneurism and vertical industry thought leadership for the company.

Alec advises a variety of early stage companies and serves as a judge, mentor and advisor for startup accelerators and programs including TechStars, MassChallenge, Lean Startup Challenge, the Stevie Awards and the United Way Youth Venture. As an angel investor and limited partner in the G20 Venture Fund, Alec is an investor in a number of rising startups.

He has been a featured speaker for national and regional small business, nonprofit and industry conferences, startup accelerators, colleges and universities. Alec is active on the Board of Directors, Board of Advisors or Executive Committees for organizations including The Better Business Bureau, BoardOnTrack and The ALLY Foundation. He is an appointed member of the City of Boston Neighborhood Innovation District Committee and the CityStart Boston Innovation program. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS from Syracuse University.
