Amir received his Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University in Political Science and French, magna cum laude. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he received awards for his contribution as a member of the Moot Court Board and for his writing in the Snodgrass Moot Court Competition.

He also holds an LL.M. in Taxation Law from Golden Gate University School of Law. After finishing his Juris Doctorate, Amir served as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of a business management corporation in Palo Alto. He also has experience working for the San Francisco and Santa Clara Public Defender’s Offices, as well as the Lieutenant Governor’s Office in San Francisco. Amir is admitted to practice law in California and is also a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Amir is currently the statewide Chair of the Young Tax Lawyers Committee of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of California. He is affiliated with the Myers Urbatsch P.C. as an of counsel attorney and he is a board member of the Blind Babies Foundation. Amir was named 2009 Attorney of the Year for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel. Amir has been a program speaker at the following events:

. State Bar of California Annual Meeting;
. Estate and Gift Tax Annual Tax Conference;
. Bar Association of San Francisco Barristers;
. Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom;

Amir is a long time Bay Area resident. He attended Fox Elementary, Stanford Middle School, and Palo Alto High School in the Peninsula.
