Professional Summary: 20+ years of diversified business building experience, in both the commercial and non-profit sectors. I’ve been responsible for launching, relaunching, refining, or otherwise helping to improve the market position of hundreds of companies, organizations and brands.

Until recently, I served as a Chief Marketing Officer at Technicolor (formerly Thomson), one of the world’s largest media and entertainment technology providers. I was responsible for shaping and communicating the identity and activities of the company’s research and development hub. My responsibilities included branding, business strategy, events, Internet, promotions, and public relations. During my tenure, I particularly enjoyed leading a review of – and implementing new initiatives in – the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility activity, launching a variety of new programs to heighten the firm’s attention to its environmental and community responsibilities, as a global sustainability steward.

Previously, I was Vice President and Group Creative Director at Dream Theatre, a leading digital marketing and production studio.  There, I oversaw some of the earliest promotional campaigns on the Web for clients including Disney, the Jim Henson Company and Sony, and our work received Promax awards for creative direction and production of Feature Film promotional websites.

Prior to my career as a creative executive, I was an award-winning director and playwright, with credits in Europe and the US, and awards or nominations including Jefferson Awards (Chicago), Ovation Awards (Los Angeles), LA Times Best Bet, Play of the Year (Los Angeles), and the Phillips Award (UK).

My global activities, both creative and operational, have led me to work with a variety of organizations on a wide array of issues, including urban planning, education, social justice, and environmental activism, and I continue this work today, serving on various governmental and national non-profit medical and environmental advisory committees.

My professional affiliations include serving as a founding Governor of the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council.  I am also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and have served several times on the jury for the Primetime Emmy Awards.  Additionally, I am a member of the advisory boards of the CMO Institute, the Charter High School for the Arts, National Film Festival for Talented Youth, American Lung Association, and the Business Marketing Association, as well as a founding member of the Digital Watermarking Alliance. I’ve spent the past year serving as a member of the City of Burbank’s Sustainability Task Force, driving policy on issues relating to the environment, human capital, transportation, energy, and more. I was thrilled to be elected recently as the Chair of the city’s subcommittee on Mobility and Urban Design. I have worked in government, fashion, retail, the Arts, Technology, Media & Entertainment, event management and business services sectors.

Other Interests: literature, innovation, emerging media, theatre, cooking, photography, social media, sustainability, business strategy and creativity.
